about jono

I have always used the process of visual imaging as a means to examine who i am – alone, and in relationship to others.

using the art making process for production and contemplation,
i have combined personal symbolism with art historical metaphors to examine my own philosophical and spiritual beliefs.

Born in Vancouver, jono received a Graphic Design Diploma from the Kootenay School of Art in Nelson and followed up with a BFA from the University of Victoria, MFA from the University of Cincinnati, an Art Therapist Degree from the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute and a B.Ed from the University of British Columbia.

jono has taught at the Universities of Northern Kentucky, Cincinnati, and British Columbia. After several years of working as an Art Therapist in Vancouver, jono began teaching art in the Richmond School District. she has exhibited her work in both Canada and the United States.
