opium series

with the opium series i combined the frailty of the poppy with gestural backgrounds and kaleidoscope wheels to represent the cycle of opium: the poverty of the people trying to grow themselves to freedom, to the false promises of the trade, to the entrapment of addiction, the breaking of the cycle and release through the labyrinth.
